I love copper and rose gold. LOVE. If it's orange-y, coppery, golden, and rosey I gravitate to it faster than the speed of light. Maybe it brightens my complexion, because I always seem to get the most *creeper stares* from men when I wear these colors.
From left to right: Josie Maran Rio de Rose Gold, Shiseido Trio in Into the Woods, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Gold, MUFE Aqua Eyes in 30E, MUFE ME-728, Colourpop in La La and Sequin.
Many honorable mentions include Urban Decay eyeshadow Chopper (copper) and L'oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush (rose gold). I also love those shades but left them at work. These are swatches (one swipe) in natural daylight.
This is a swatch indoors with flash. You can see that they differ slightly and are not all dupes and generics of each other. Some have brown bases, gold bases, or true rose gold tones under closer inspection.
And surprise, a brief review on the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eyeshadow in Rio De Rose Gold ($18).
I guess I was intrigued by this product because it looks easy to use, fuss free, and very pigmented. Not to mention, a liquid eyeshadow suspended in coconut water is a novel idea!
Josie Maran claims that users saw their lids appearing "smoother and hydrated." Erm, so this must be good for drier and mature lids!
Ingredients and instructions below.
Good to know: this product is earth and animal friendly!
The packaging holds the applicator and bottle of product separately. You remove the bottle cap and put the applicator in. It looks like a nipple squeezer (my favorite term for dropper bottle) but is actually a doe foot wand.
I think it's very easy to blend out on the lids with your finger because it isn't too runny to drip all over your eyes, but you definitely need less product than you think! Once you dab a bit onto your lids, you can use your finger to blend out the edges and spread the product out as you want.
I haven't noticed any creasing on top of MAC Soft Ochre, and it doesn't emphasize dry lids or fine lines either. The remaining effect, once the liquid has evaporated, looks semi-wet and very metallic (as if foiled.)
Here it is on mah face.
