Collection| Liquid Luminizers and Highlighters

Though I'm a huge fan of highlighters, liquid luminizers have always been my weak point. It's very easy to over-pump, leaving your fingers a huge sparkling mess and your entire face (rather than its high points) radiant. And yet, I have three in my current collection! For each mood I'm in! What??

Okay, so I like liquid highlighters a lot more than I care to admit. It can look much more natural than powder if done right, and even better when mixed in with a sheer foundation. The best part is that now you can find one at each price point. I have here Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator in Bare Light ($12.99 retail),  Benefit's High Beam ($26 retail), and BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector SPF 25+ in Moonstone ($41 retail.)

As you can see, they each have a different undertone. Benefit's High Beam (far right) looks almost stark white up above, but it's a rather opalescent pink in person. This has the most apparent color payoff and the thickest texture, so I usually use this for just the highest points of my cheekbones. It looks way too harsh for the bridge of my nose and emphasizes my blackheads and pores. The nail polish-esque container is infuriating and applies too much product, so a Q-tip and lots of patience is needed with this one.

BECCA's SSP in Moonstone (far left) performs well as a more liberal "all high points of the face meaning cheeks, middle of forehead, and wherever y'all want to glow" sort of product. If you accidentally smear it all over your cheeks, it won't look garish. I wouldn't recommend mixing this with your foundation, as I found it gave me clogged pores in my t-zone. It's best for non-sensitive skin and warmer skintones that make gold flattering.

Revlon Skinlights in Bare Light (middle) is a great drugstore alternative. Its thin consistency, light texture, and sheerer pigmentation means that it's amazing to mix with foundation. If your foundation is a little too matte or thick, a little dash of this can bring back life to your face. It's a little too runny to be used as a highlighter for me, but it makes a great luminizer if that makes sense. I also have Bronzed Light, which makes for an amazing liquid contour/bronzer product.

At three price points, I'm guessing you can find something that will fit your needs. Liquid highlighters require either the utmost precision or a liberally slap-happy hand to your entire face, but they are always fun to wear and can blend seamlessly into the skin. I'm making a point to incorporate more of them into my daily base routine.

XO, Be

Yes! I like it more than I care to admit but it's rather cheap and effective :)
