L'oreal makes the best formulation of eyeshadows at the drugstore, besides Wet n Wild. Just putting it out there. When I saw the recently reformulated Colour Riche quads (around $9 at drugstores), I knew I had to try at least one. The original formulation is still miles beyond what brands like Covergirl and Maybelline has to offer.
I chose 240 Treasured Bronze for myself because of the warm bronze tones (no surprise here.) I also saw several other nude palettes and a few colorful ones if you're looking for a flattering quad. I own an original quad that's about a 6/10 for me (not super pigmented and on the chalky/dry side.) Good thing this reformulated quad blows shit out of the water.
This is one swipe of each color. While they still aren't highly pigmented, the chalkiness and patchiness that happened in the past is now history. The texture reminds me of MAC eyeshadows, while the pigmentation is similar to Shiseido. Overall, not bad comparisons when I'm talking about drugstore! Did I mention they last all day with your average primer and don't crease whatsoever, even through a 9 hour workday?
Although you see a lot of shimmer or even glitter in this direct sunlight picture, the darkest brown is actually much more matte and makes for a great outer v color.
L'oreal is also the company that does the single Infallible shadow pots, so I wasn't surprised that this quad performed so well for the price. If you're on a budget or wanting something portable to take in your purse or leave in the office, these quads are a great option!
