Edit| Redemption for SUQQU Blend Color Eyeshadow Quads

I'M A HYPOCRITE! I ENJOY SUQQU! Throw me into the deepest pits of hell reserved for liars and indecisive pricks.

While 19 and EX-25 (poor review here) were misses for me, the rest of my SUQQU purchases have been well (okay, better) informed with amazing results. A lot of interwebz friends suggested that I try the original 01-05 line and other "high chroma" quads that won't be completely sheer and useless on my lids. I also found that application WITH the included brushes and sponge tips yields superior results to my synthetic and long handled brutes.

Here's the lineup of my latest splurge/blood sacrifice:

I purchased #15 and #18 with remarkable markup from Ichibankao and the rest from Selfridges (astoundingly fast shipping to the U.S. and no taxes, but it was with a promo code). You can see how a one in a lifetime opportunity to purchase Suqqu quads for $57 each can be crippling to one's wallet.

While the previous two were "softly" pigmented, these quads are actually softly pigmented but still shows up on the lids in pictures. They're much more amazing in real life, with complex shimmer that isn't too chunky or obvious. They're easy to blend and coordinate so you can mix and match as you please and experiment with placement as well as intensity. Of course, you can layer them to your heart's content to create interesting shifts and duochromes.

15 Mitsucha: Warm golds and browns which are must haves in every eyeshadow collection. This is the MOST pigmented quad in my lineup.

05 Sakurakaba: A cooler/more neutral version of 13 in my opinion.

18 Sakuraori: Rose golds! See it in action on Emily here. It pulls cool on me (see below) but looks positively orange on her!

13 Akanezora: This one has a surprising creamy brown. It's one of my favorites for a pinky eye that doesn't make me look sickly.

20 Kaoribara: Red/burgundy hues with taupe accent. This one has a white base cream color and is the most unique of the bunch.

01 Kakitsubata: Neutral with a hint of blue (which leans grey when blended into the outer v). This is the "least" pigmented quad, but I find it makes a lovely smoky eye look that isn't too over the top.

If you're curious and don't want to be disappointed, I would suggest going with 15 or 13. They are true to color in the pan and the pigmentation is on par with Shiseido eyeshadows. If you've already hopped off the Japanese formulation of eyeshadows, adieu! There's really no point in talking someone into buying an expensive makeup product that might not work for them, is there?

Again, they are luxury products that no one "needs." Enter the hype at your own risk...
