Review| Morphe Elite Brushes

I'm up to my ears in brushes. For natural hair brushes, I've got the Chikuhodo x Beautylish collaboration set and a lot of Wayne Goss brushes. For synthetics, I have Zoeva to count on. I pretty much have every shape possible to create day to day looks but....I fell to the hype of Morphe brushes.

It wasn't until members of MUA board posted and raved about the Elite collection of Morphe brushes that I finally pulled the trigger on a few packing and blending eye brushes. Then, I went back for more! My second haul consisted of 3 face brushes and two blending brushes. In total, I purchased 9 brushes for just under $100 bucks. That's not to say they're expensive. The face brushes range from 10-20 each and the eye brushes are 5 to 10 each, there's always a 10% discount code from YTers, and the shipping is only 2-3 bucks if you choose the cheapest option.

BUT SERIOUSLY! I've heard that the other brushes in their collection are complete crap but their Elite brushes, while limited edition, are well worth the money spent. And it's true!

To me, the eye brushes feel as soft as MUFE's synthetic line for a fraction of the cost. The handles are long, hefty but not heavy, and the ferrules and hairs don't splay or shed even after vigorous washing. I generally prefer synthetics for eyeshadow work because they pack on more pigment than their natural hair counterparts.

Face Brushes-
E7- Angled Buffer- I'm hoping that this can be a backup buffing brush when my Bobbi Brown one is drying. I don't like ultra-dense brushes that eat my foundation, but this one gets the job done and isn't too floppy or thick (lololol.)
E2- Round Powder- I needed a round powder brush since my MUFE ginormous brush can be too big for precision powdering or mineral foundations. I also don't like pointed/tapered powder brushes. This brush is excellent for applying bronzer to the perimeters of the face and never picks up too much product. It's my favorite.
E9- Oval Foundation- I purchased this one for applying masks in even layers. I don't like applying foundation with flat brushes in general since it never works the product into the skin.

If you're over Sigma's ludicrous pricing and poor quality, need more options than what Real Techniques offer, and willing to hurry before stock runs out, you need to get your hands on at least a few to try! I leave these at home since they are long handled, but they are perfect for both novices and experts in need of brush kits.

Eye Brushes- from left to right

E14- Oval Shadow: A standard packing brush that isn't too small or big for my lids. I like it more than my Zoevas because it's thicker.
E13- Oval Shadow Fluff: This one is similar to MAC 217 and perhaps a little longer and wider. It's a great multitasker that can lay down color, blend out edges, or create a soft line.
E21- Deluxe Angle Blender: This one is actually perfect for applying a crease color and blending upwards. It saves me time on lazy days if I want to do a wash of color. I also use it to place a soft matte bone shade under the brows.
E30- Blending Fluff: It's a generic blending brush that's rather big on my lid space but gets the job done. This one can also be used to pack shadow onto the mobile lid if you're lazy/traveling.
E23- Deluxe Blender: Another generic blending brush. I like to keep quite a few of these around to blend out colors without muddying up the look.
Not pictured as it's a frequently used one at this point: E17- Crease Precision Blender: This is similar to Zoeva's Petit Crease brush but a little wider and good for placing color on the outer v of the lids. I don't like to blend with it but it smudges out color beautifully.

PS: I wish Morphe would let me shill for them because these brushes are the shit!
