I've done a previous review on the Hourglass Blush and for the price I wasn't completely in love. And yet, the Limited Edition hype and frenzy of the holiday season spurred on this purchase.
The Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette retails for $58 and I luckily picked it up during Sephora's Employee Appreciation sale. In a luxurious case of gold lies three shades: Luminous Flush, Incandescent Electra (a new shade), and Mood Exposure.
If you haven't already seen this flying off shelves recently, I suggest you pick one up for yourself and a few more for gifting.
Yes, I'm well aware that most of the swatches I've done in store of the permanent line turn corally pink on me. That's quite alright since I love the finish these blushes give to my cheeks: radiant and airbrushed. I've never noticed the colors emphasizing my pores and they're really flattering to light-medium skin. They wear well, though not like iron.
Others have complained of "frostiness", which is largely due to the unique veining found in each pan. Some pan may contain more ambient powder than blush, but I lucked out through my online purchase and only found the middle shade to have a smidge too much "powder". This didn't translate to frost in my swatches.
Of course, the packaging is luxury, hefty, and an absolute magnet for fingerprints. It feels more appropriate as a display piece but works so well for travelling.
Here are several pictures of in-pan and arm swatches in two different lighting situations.
In direct sunlight, it looks absolutely radiant!
Under yellow flourescent lighting, there's still a subdued beauty to the shades in pan.
If you already have some of these blushes in your arsenal, you'll be no stranger to this palette. If you're new to Hourglass blushes, you'll find that they give your skin a porcelain effect even if the shades are not completely unique from one another.
Have you picked one up? Debating it? Passing this time? Let me know :)

Totally picked one up as soon as it came out and I looooove it! It's a bit more shimmery than I'd usually wear but I think it's gorgeous for day time.

I think some are more fortunate than others and get less veining of powder in their products!
